| The following in private collection, Cambridge, MA, USA: "Plan of the House Gardens and Plantations of Haldon in Devonshire / The Seat of Sr. George Chudleigh Barr:tt". Pen and ink w/ grey wash on laid paper. Approx. 20 1/4" h. x 12 1/2" w. Signed lower left "S. Mace Delin:" N. Pevsner dates Haldon c. 1735. Sir George, the 4th bart., died in 1738. Erasures on this otherwise finished drawing suggest that landscape work was still being planned or underway when the drawing was made, presumably c. 1735-8. | |||||||
